Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City set for James Rodriguez transfer scrap

The talented Colombia international forward is just fifth in the Real Madrid pecking order and wants more regular football

James Rodriguez will spark a four-way transfer battle when he quits Real Madrid this summer.

Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal will go all-out to sign the £50million forward.

The 25-year-old Colombia star has become a peripheral figure at the Bernabeu under manager Zinedine Zidane.

odriguez has fallen behind Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Isco in the pecking order – and now he wants regular first team football.

Chelsea tried to sign Rodriguez during the January window but the player believed he was to be given a first role at Real. It has not materialised, however.

The European champions will want to recoup most of the £63m they paid to bring Rodriguez from Monaco three years ago.
